A beautiful and easy to visit national park that we recommend to anyone traveling in the Southern part of Western Australia.Santorini Greek Wedding Show – White Door Theatro is unique and embraces everyone that wants to “experience” Greece. We have seen some species including Rosenberg's monitor (Varanus rosenbergi), ornate dragon (Ctenophorus ornatus), wedge-tailed eagle (Aquila audax), brown falcon (Falco berigora), sooty oystercatcher (Haematopus fuliginosus) and Pacific gull (Larus pacificus).
The wildlife of this national park is also interesting. For this reason at least two days are necessary for the visit even if three could be the best, certainly all very dependent on the weather conditions.
There are not many things to see in the park (Lucky Bay, Hellfire Bay, Thistle Cove, Le Grand Beach, Frenchman Peak and possibly take some of the coastal trails), but since they are mostly very beautiful beaches it is worth spending some time relaxing on the beach, swimming and maybe snorkelling. Moreover, returning at sunset on the road between the park entrance and Mullet Lake every evening we saw hundreds of kangaroos and a good number of emus. Although there are campgrounds we have chosen to stay in Esperance by coming here daily. The only unpaved stretch is the one that leads to Rossiter Bay, 6 Km which are very corrugated and which can be avoided because this beach is beautiful, but not comparable to the others in the NP. In the park there are only 2 roads both asphalted: the Cape Le Grand Rd which leads directly to Cape Le Grand Beach and the Lucky Bay Rd from which all the small roads, all paved, that lead to the individual points of interest begin. Follow Merivale Rd first, passing by Mullet Lake Nature Reserve (excellent for bird watching), then take Cape Le Grand Rd. Cape Le Grand National Park is approximately 50 km from Esperance and can be reached via asphalted roads (there is also the option with 4WD to reach it along the sandy coastal stretch from Wylie Bay to Cape Le Grand Beach).
